Starting in 1979 with his first job as an energy engineer, Mr. Wolins has dedicated his career to the advancement of the energy efficiency industry. He has worked over a 25 year period with facilities, their processes and their HVAC, refrigeration, controls and metering systems. Mr. Wolins was responsible for the design and execution of many cutting edge energy improvement projects including PG&E’s ACT² and BPA’s small commercial demand response program.
As one of the founders of EnFlex Corp. in 1993, Mr. Wolins spent 16+ years developing connectivity and enterprise solutions for the delivery of building systems data. He was responsible for the development of clients including Chevron Energy Services, Costco, Kroger, U.S. Postal Service, and the utilities Bonneville Power Administration, Entergy and PG&E. In 2008 Mr. Wolins sold EnFlex to SunEdison LLC. Mr Wolins holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.
John Pitcher has over 35 years of experience in energy management systems, energy conservation, building technologies and information technology. Prior to starting SCI in 2007, Mr. Pitcher served as vice president of Energy Technologies for Sterling Planet, the leading retail provider of renewable energy credits in the U.S., Mr. Pitcher helped pioneer the concept of “Energy Efficiency Credits” also known as “White Tags.” Prior to joining Sterling Planet Mr. Pitcher spent five years as director of technology for Service Resources, which later became Prenova, the largest provider of energy services for commercial customers. While at Prenova, Mr. Pitcher conceived and helped develop the concept of the “Virtual Audit” a method of providing automated remote commissioning through existing facility automation systems.
Previously, he was chief operating officer of Envenergy, a technology development specializing in Energy Management gateway technologies used to integrate building automation systems. In addition, Mr. Pitcher was director of operations for Entergy’s non-regulated services group with responsibility for an $80 million dollar roll out of products and services. Mr. Pitcher also served as a general manager for Comfort Systems USA in Madison, Wis., and was McDonald’s Corporation’s first energy manager.
Mr. Colman has over 25 years of experience in executive management and finance in the electricity supply and energy efficiency arena, with expertise in product development, sales, marketing and engineering. He joined SCI from EnFlex Corp, a leading provider of commercial building energy management software and hardware, where he was CEO and led the company through a major expansion and acquisition by SunEdison LLC. Prior to EnFlex, Mr. Colman was at MACH Energy, where he was co-Founder and vice president. He conceived MACH, helped raise venture funding, recruited the founding team, designed core applications and closed key sales. Earlier, he built and led the dominant sales teams for New Energy Ventures, now Constellation New Energy, and for First Pacific Networks, a cable modem pioneer. Mr. Colman was an energy strategist with Booz & Company focusing on the financial and utility industries, and started his career as a research engineer at Westinghouse Advanced Reactors Division.
Mr. Colman attended the University of Virginia, where he earned a B.S. and an M.E. in Nuclear Engineering plus an M.B.A. from Virginia’s Darden School.
Thor Johnson is a software developer with over 20 years of commercial software development experience, both in the enterprise development and in embedded systems, having working for Altea Therapeutics, Movaz Networks, Prenova, and Northrop Grumman. Mr. Johnson brings a tremendous amount of expertise from developing systems as small as a handheld drug delivery system to a 144-Terabit optical switch. He has also developed several scalable, enterprise management systems including an enterprise Thin-Client management system as well as the SCI Diagnostic Engine. Mr. Johnson holds B.S.E. and a B.A. in Computer Science at Mercer University.
Chip Pieper is a veteran of the software industry having held leadership positions at Microsoft, Sourcecode (K2), US Web as well as founding Alignsoft.net and co-founding BizStorm Software and Info-One Technology. In addition, he also co-founded Service Equity, a private equity firm. His cleantech experience began at EnFlex Corporation, an industry leading provider of facility monitoring software, then SunEdison, North America’s leading solar energy services provider. Chip holds degrees from both the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and Marquette University.
Lin Little has been in enterprise software and web based solutions for 25 years. He began his technology career at Xerox as a design engineer, then sales and marketing of hi tech solutions. He was a co-founder of LeadersOnline, a subsidiary of Heidrick & Struggles, one of the first full service Internet based executive search firms. His cleantech career began at EnFlex Corporation, an industry leading provider of facility monitoring software, then SunEdison, North America’s leading solar energy services provider. Lin is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado.
